RAMA

INTRODUCTION

RAMA was founded after some MLN members with assistance from the then Landcare Officer, Andy Vinter, who identified a gap in services and education around regenerative agriculture in the Macleay.

AIMS

The group provides information to anyone interested in regenerative agriculture, to foster links in the community, enhance the collective knowledge, and also provide support for anyone interested in changing farming practices or starting fresh in the regenerative space.

The term Alliance is used as it is a collaboration for the benefit of anyone operating in or interested in Regenerative Farming.

This has included organisations like Local Land Services, Kempsey Shire Council, industry and service providers, plus anyone pioneering practice change in agriculture with the aim of improving soil health and farm resilience to climate impacts.

Goals

Farming is becoming increasingly complex and like all industries RAMA is compelled to become more aware of emissions and environmental impacts.

RAMA is committed to providing opportunities for land managers in the Macleay and surrounding valleys to learn about Regenerative Agriculture Practices and philosophy.

OUR ACTIVITIES

RAMA has held several field days covering such topics as composting, alternative nutrition and bioactive fertilising, worm farming,  vermicast extract brewing and application techniques, dung beetle benefits, and multispecies cover crops.

RAMA is planning on holding future field days showcasing on-farm forestry and silviculture, how to breed dung beetles, landscape rehydration techniques, regenerative and rotational grazing techniques, pasture soil health and biology monitoring.

RAMA advertise through MLN and on  Facebook, so keep an eye out for any upcoming field days.
